Computer.... arg!

Hello again, crafters! I am back, and this time with a computer that works. This is the second time our laptop charger stopped working! Plus other family things came up, and all the wonderful crafts I had ready to post were postponed.

BUT I have some wonderful news! I might be starting to make You-Tube videos of my cards and crafts! I bought a tri-pod, so as soon as I figure it out, I hopefully will have no excuse to get started!

So, to make up for lost time, here are a few previews of what I have been up to!

Puppy Love Layout

This is my first layout! Being a newly wed, I don't have much to scrapbook, except for a select few events and my family. At this time it is only me, my husband, and our three pets. So this page, is dedicated to my puppies.

Yes, I messed up on the boy and dog cut. I'm not a big fan of the cart A Child's year, because I like layers and depth. This cut was done on too light of paper, and I might go back and re-cut it with brown paper. I REALLY don't like it. The bones and "Collin and Charlie" were also cut from the same cart. The "Puppy Love" was cut from Lovely Floral.

Would you be surprised if I told you I don't know where the paper came from? I bought a paper pack almost a year ago, and tore all the paper out of it. Go figure.

To make up for it, here are my wonderful boys. (Minus the kitty.)

Aren't my boys cute? They can't even stop playing to go out to go potty.

Butterfly Frame.

I apologize for the lack of updates. I've been crafting, but I've forgot SEVERAL times to take a picture of what I've made before giving it to the person. I've made an airplane card for my dad's birthday, a family thinking of you card, and a birthday card for my Husband's secretary.

This card is the standard A2 Size, and uses the Sentimentals cartridge exclusively. The paper is made by My Minds's Eye, and I found it at Michaels. Sadly, I do not remember the name of the paper, and I seem to have thrown away the scrap that had it. I went through on-line to try and find it, but I fell in love with all of their designs and was to distracted. Sorry! But, I highly recommend their paper lines.

The frame's shadow was actually white when I first cut. I wanted it to look like an old antique-y frame, so I stamped it with a rust and bronze colored shimmer inks. The back layer of the frame is inked in gold, and the top is inked in a plain brown. It really give the effect of old wear and tear, with a bit of shine underneath.
For the butter fly, I actually used the negative cut of the wings, and I think I prefer this way instead of the original.
I then pop-dotted everything to give it more depth, added the three glittery brads,  added an insert with a stamp, wrote my letter, and WHAM-BAM! A simple card, made in under half an hour that I think still has an edge of elegance.
*You didn't actually think I'd make a card without inking something, did you?

Butterfly

Good morning!
Here is a fun cute card using tons of layers! I honestly don't think I've used so much paper on a card before.

The base of the card is from Michaels (I love those dollar bins!) as are the flower stickers. The pearls are Martha Stewart, and the coordinating paper is from a stack that was also purchased at Michaels. I don't know the name off of the top of my head, but it is one of my absolute FAVORITES! (If you couldn't tell already!)

The butterfly was cut at 3 inches, from Once Upon a princess.

I think this may be my new "go-to" basic layout for cards. What do you think?
The inside of the card. The tag was also cut from OUaP, and the stamp is from an old SU! set.

O

I kept writing and deleting this post, because I was afraid I was bragging. However, I can't help buy brag a little bit. One year ago today, I married my college sweetie. Thanks to him, we are living in what feels like a dream. I have my dream house, my wonderful pets, and big dreams for the future. I am so blessed to have him. I may have met him at his frat house, during a party my first weekend at college, but our relationship has been nothing but wonderful. Who would have known that going to a party could have had such a great outcome?

One thing that my husband has been blessed with through me..... is coffee. I was and still am a coffee aholic. I love coffee more than almost anything. So I thought this was a perfect time to use the Coffee themed cuts from the Just Because Cart. I cut and layered everything onto a card base that I got from Michaels. They were $1 for 8 cards and envelopes.
The coffee jug is embossed with Cuttlebug's Divine Swirls folder. This is one of my only 3 folders. I use this one and swiss dots almost exclusively. I need to look outside the box, I think.

The oval is actually colored to look dusty, but I couldn't capture that effect on the camera. It doesn't look like a plain boring old ugly oval in person.  I promise.

I'm alive

I'm a terrible blogger, I know. Life has caught up with me. I've been working 30 hours a week at the day care, when originally it was supposed to be around 20. I've been trying to clean my house, and keep up with all the pets, as well as enjoy life with my husband. I can't believe we've been married for almost a year now! Wow, this year has FLOWN by. I can't believe it was a year ago right now I was student teaching, getting ready to graduate and writing my resume. I can't believe one year ago today, I was mailing out invitations to my wedding.

Crazy.

My husband also bought me sims 3. Haha. I have said I was going to craft this week, only to pull out something, sit it on the couch and play sims. The depressing thing, is that Sims also reiterates the fact that there is not enough time in the day!

Speaking of time, today is also my mom's Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! So, I made her this simple card, using the cart Simply Charmed. (I think.) The paper is the cardstock that Michaels carries. Recollections, I think is the name. The inside is stamped with an old stamp from stampin up, and I used glitter brads that I love. Inked with chalk ink, and voila! A simple, but cute birthday card!

Oh wait, I always forget something. *I am so forgetful. Sheesh.* The background of the front of the card was embossed with my brand new cuttlebug, using the happy birthday plate! I also used stickles to add some glitter to the candles.

Now, go get creative!

Hoppy Easter

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I've been working at the daycare almost everyday and today is my Birthday. So, I haven't been very productive.

The other day, I decided I needed to craft, and participated in a one-hour craft session, and I made this easter card. What cartridge is the bunny from? You guessed it, Create a Critter! I LOVE this cart. I've used it so much in my creations, and it's really easy to layer too! They are a little 'cutesy' but I can't help it. I'm going to make an animal book at some point for the day care, using this cart. :)

Oh yeah, back to the card. Whoops. *Jenni, stop getting distracted.

The bunny is 3in, I believe. The stamp reads Wishing you a day bright with sunshine. I'm actually surprised I didn't add ribbon to this card, knowing I'm a bow-aholic.:)

The pink papers came from a clearance stack from Michaels.  :D I really enjoy a good deal on cute paper!

Happy Crafting!
